Ongoing CPD

ASWM provides opportunities to undertake ongoing mediation-related CPD so as to assist mediators in keeping up-to-date, maintaining standards, sharing best practice and achieving and/or maintaining their accreditation with the CMC and/or FMC. In particular, ASWM provides at least two training sessions each year helping towards achievement of mediation-related CPD requirements.

 

Observations and mentoring

Members are encourages to explore opportunities for co-mediation and to provide opportunities for mentoring and observation.

 

Community mediation

ASWM now holds a contract to provide community mediation at a fixed price. For those prepared to undertake the necessary training this can provide the opportunity for obtaining experience of conducting mediation in challenging situations.
