GUY LEIGH

Overview

Guy Leigh is a CEDR trained and accredited mediator. Since retiring from private practice as a solicitor in April 2009, he has focused on commercial mediation.

For many years Guy was a competition law partner with Addleshaw Goddard, (formerly Theodore Goddard). Guy’s practice was both contentious and non-contentious. He has wide experience of commercial and competition issues arising in many sectors. Much of his practice also centered on the interface between intellectual property rights and competition law.
Guy is an experienced manager and chairman. He was head of Theodore Goddard’s competition practice. Guy was also a past president of the LIDC (an International Lawyers' Organisation); a past Chairman of the London based Competition Law Association and has been a member of the Management Boards of respectively Theodore Goddard and the then Institute of Neurology.

Guy is an internationalist, for although born in England of British parents, between the ages of 8 and 25 he lived first in various Continental countries, and then in the US. Guy can speak and work in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. He deals well with interpersonal relationships, and enjoys operating in a multicultural and multilingual environments.

Mediation experience includes disputes concerning agriculture, commercial agency, distribution, hospitality, oil, property, partnership, and shipping.

LITIGATION EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Highly regarded competition lawyer with an international reputation. In 2006 Guy was appointed as a non-governmental adviser (NGA) to the International Competition Network, serving on its unilateral conduct working party until 2009.
